Go Go Go

Solo show at Cultural Rizoma.

Go Go Go is a project based on the routes taken on Google Street View by three residents of Celrà - the catalan village where Cultural Rizoma is located. As they navigate the dynamic map of their town, they articulate their memories and tell us their feelings about how their village has changed over the years. Contacted through the Can Ponac senior citizens club, they appear on screen embodied by anthropomorphic avatars from the Pokemon series.
As the Pokemon Go app invites hyper-connected younger generations to take walks on their streets, Go Go Go uses another hegemonic platform to make the opposite journey: using an online space to activate walks and stories. Through this exercise, an ultra-local story of Celrà's landscape emerges, told by the people who saw it change and by the platform that archived it.
